The Format
How a Maison Alti Cupping Works
Honduras in Context — 15 min
Gretel opens with a brief on Honduras's six specialty regions: altitude maps, variety histories, climate specifics. Not a lecture. A conversation that makes the cups that follow make sense.
Professional Cupping — 60 min
SCA-standard cupping table. 4 to 6 origins cupped blind first, then revealed. Roasters score independently, then Gretel walks through her own notes. No pressure, no sales. Just sensory work.
Sourcing & Compliance — 30 min
Gretel opens a real EUDR dossier from a lot on the table and walks through it. What the regulation requires. What Maison Alti provides. How the consolidated order model works. Questions welcome.
Order Window — 20 min
Roasters who want to commit to a lot can do so on the spot. Not mandatory. No pressure. Gretel provides a one-page order summary for each origin with lot status, quantity, and estimated ship date.
Informal Networking — 30 min
Coffee, conversation, and the kind of exchange that only happens when six people who care deeply about the same thing are in a room together. This is where relationships are built.
Pricing
First event: complimentary for registered roasters. This is an investment in the relationship, not a revenue line.
Subsequent events: €50–100 per person. Signals commitment. Covers venue and materials.
What Roasters Experience
“I have attended every importer cupping in France for the past three years. This was the first time I understood not just what I was tasting, but why it tastes that way.”
“The EUDR session alone was worth the evening. Gretel explained the regulation in thirty minutes better than any consultant I have paid to do it.”
“I came expecting a sales pitch. What I got was a master class in Honduran terroir. I ordered two lots before I left the room.”
